Board approves cultural competency resolution, reviews staffing update
The board of education for Chamberlain School District #7-1 approved the cultural competency resolution and reviewed staffing updates when the group met Monday, Aug. 9, at the high school vocal room in Chamberlain.
Region Tournament Champions
Members of the Chamberlain Teeners Baseball Team won the region tournament in Winner on Saturday, Aug. 7. The team qualified for the State Teener Tournament and will begin play on Friday, Aug. 13 in Wagner.
Region 4B Champions
The Lyman Veterans of Foreign Wars Baseball Teener Team captured the Region 4B tournament title in Gregory on Saturday, Aug. 7. The teeners played four games to emerge as the champions.
Commissioners discuss variance, road issue
Brule County Commissioners continued the task of working on the 2011 budget when they met Aug. 3 in the commissioners' room of the Brule County Courthouse in Chamberlain.
Sturgis Rally Time
The steady roar and increased traffic along the highways can only mean one thing in South Dakota - It's Sturgis Rally time. The rally officially started Monday, Aug. 9 but prior to that, the interstate was full of motorcyclist enthusiasts headed to the 70th anniversary gathering.
